Artist's Profile

Pamela Schuller is a mask artist with twenty years experience in theatre, dance, puppetry and mask work. She established Masque thirteen years ago to explore personal and community development through mask-making. Over the past six years, she has developed the papier-mâché sculpture mosaic technique which is an excellent medium for collective projects of a common theme, whether as a method of collective or of individual expression.
Pamela’s experience in community arts started with volunteering mask workshops in her children’s school, the results of which were presented in the annual community Easter Parade. From these beginnings, she has garnered a broad range of experience:

  • she has volunteered in her community, facilitating mask-making workshops for the annual street festival parade
  • she has been awarded grants by both OAC and TAC to direct various school and community arts projects
  • she has created and fostered her own locally sponsored initiatives, and taught in various summer arts programs
  • she is engaged in developing new mask works for exhibit as well as creating wearable masks and house and garden guardians for sale.

“ I bring all my years of creative experience to support my main passion in life: fostering community, communication and creativity through art."

The Gallery pages include photos of previously conducted workshops with individuals, schools and communities.
